From Hawaii: Honolulu Civil Beat reports the city and the state combined have more than 5,000 job openings. Officials are looking at a revamping of hiring practices to fill the spots.

From Louisiana: Biz New Orleans reports the launch of an apprenticeship program for on-the-job training on the business side of New Orleans’ music industry.

From Maryland: Technical.ly reports an award federal funding of $2.45 million will go towards workforce development in the state’s life sciences industry.

From Massachusetts: Yahoo Finance reports small businesses adversely affected by the pandemic can apply for training to learn new marketing skills. Those that are eligible can get reimbursed for the training cost.
