Changing the world for good!

Next stop: San Diego, as the ASU+GSV Summit gets underway April 4
-

We’re on the road again – this time San Diego-bound!

We’re just a couple of days away from ASU+GSV Summit 13.0. The theme this year is education on the edge and is focused on transforming society and business around learning and work. As always, the Summit welcomes diverse perspectives from around the world to imagine a new era in which ALL people have equal access to the future. We’re talking about changing the world for good!

WorkingNation is proud to be part of that conversation as a Collaborating Partner with ASU+GSV.

We’ve got some great content planned around access, opportunity, and jobs. If you’re at the conference, WorkingNation will be fielding a panel on Green Jobs Now on Tuesday at 10:10 a.m.

Protecting and repairing the environment is not just good news for our planet, it is also good news for the American worker. The demand for workers with green skills rose dramatically last year in all industries – from tech to health care to the skilled trades – and is projected to grow even more this year with the passage of the Infrastructure and Jobs Act.

Using our own proprietary state-by-state research, this WorkingNation panel examines where the opportunities exist today and tomorrow for green jobs and identifies educational pathways that lead to the skills job seekers need to get these in-demand jobs.

I am honored to moderate the panel. Joining me in this discussion is former Colorado governor Bill Ritter, director of the Center for the New Energy Economy at Colorado State University; Daniel Ferguson, senior director of workforce development at the Los Angeles Cleantech Incubator (LACI); Matt Sigelman, chairman of Emsi Burning Glass; Frank Niepold, senior climate education program manager and coordinator at NOAA’s Climate Program Office; and Joan Lynch, chief content and programming officer at WorkingNation

When and where: Tuesday, April 5, 10:10-10:50 a.m. PT, Harbor E, Level 2, Manchester Grand Hyatt, San Diego.

Our founder and CEO Art Bilger and president Jane Oates are also on the ground in San Diego. We’ll be sharing some of the conversations we’re having at the conference with you via our social media interview series, WorkingNation Overheard. This is our way of letting you know about some of the important discussions going on at ASU+GSV, in case you can’t be there yourself. We’ve been at it since 2019. If you want to catch up, you can watch those videos on our website at WorkingNation Overheard ASU+GSV.
