In Glory In Overcoming: Google, Accenture, & Coursera Partner with Goodwill to Lower the Barrier to Entry for Tech Careers, we meet three inspiring women, Shaheera Alnatshia, Chelsea Rucker, and Kara Gooch, who defied the odds and found success in the tech industry.

Their stories are a testament to the power of resilience and determination, as well as the role that supportive programs like the Goodwill® Digital Career Accelerator® can play in helping individuals achieve their goals. Each of these single mothers faced seemingly insurmountable obstacles on their path to success – from domestic abuse and homelessness to poverty – but thanks to a training program partnership put together by Goodwill, Google, and Coursera, they were able to gain the digital skills necessary to secure meaningful careers with room for growth.

The Goodwill Digital Career Accelerator offers comprehensive training in a variety of digital skills, from basic productivity tools like email and Microsoft Word, all the way up to advanced IT skills like computer programming.

Goodwill’s support extends beyond the classroom by connecting learners with services like housing, transportation, and childcare to ensure they have everything they need to succeed.

Glory In Overcoming is a powerful reminder of the importance of programs like the Goodwill Digital Career Accelerator in lending individuals a hand up to help them get ahead in life.

Not only have Shareera, Chelsea, and Kara found personal fulfillment through their work, but they have also been able to provide hope, inspiration, and financial security for their children, effectively breaking their families free from the intergenerational cycle of poverty.
