Some examples of the great things that are happening in these cities include the Women’s Bean Project in Denver where local women are gaining the skills and confidence they need to find permanent employment; The Central Ohio Compact initiative at Columbus State Community College that teaches students of all ages the skills they need to fill the jobs that drive our economy; and the Canal Barge Company in New Orleans who “hires for attitude and trains for skill … [to] create a strong foundation of ready, loyal and supportive employees and operators.”
