Americans regularly celebrate the service of returning military service members. Yet veterans coming home from war zones find that the civilian world actually isn’t waiting with its arms wide open — especially if there’s any inkling that the vet has PTSD.
This stigma means that at a time when veterans need the most help in transitioning back to stable lives back home, they frequently find themselves shut out. To solve this problem, it takes patience and understanding from employers.
