Tear the paper ceiling. This message from a new campaign launched by Opportunity@Work and the Ad Council. It encourages employers to hire STARs, people Skilled Through Alternative Routes – overlook the requirement for a college diploma.

Sean Hinton, CEO and founder of SkyHive, says skills are the new currency in the labor market and that should give rise to more opportunity for STARs.

He explains his organization’s role in supporting STARs, “Our goal with SkyHive is to bring real time ethical data to the conversation. Data, both in terms of what’s going on in labor markets, but AI capability – through ethical AI – for the purposes of matching and helping automate all of those career pathways where STARs have an incredible collection of skills that can apply to many, many different jobs in the labor market.”
