How can the America’s Warrior Partnership Symposium impact a veteran’s life? Kate Migliaro, Director of Diversity and Veterans Initiative at Apollo Global Management shares how it will make things easier for veterans.

Kate is focused on the recruitment, development, and sustainment of diverse capabilities at Apollo and at the companies in which its funds invest. She is a US Army Veteran with five years of active duty experience in the Military Police Corps who supported and built local national law enforcement capabilities.

One thing that Kate would like her fellow veterans to know about entering the workforce is that the “first job you take doesn’t have to be the be all end all. It can be a learning environment and experience.” She suggests veterans find an employer “that understands your talent and will develop you to further your growth and development.”

She earned her degree in American Politics and Systems Engineering from the United States Military Academy. She currently sits on the board of America’s Warrior Partnership and is an advocate for veteran integration.

Organized by America’s Warrior Partnership, the Warrior Community Integration Symposium is an opportunity to share best practices, find innovative solutions, and form new collaborative partnerships to better help the veterans in their communities address the work challenges they sometimes encounter when making the transition to civilian life.

WorkingNation set up its cameras at the Symposium and interviewed the speakers and attendees about the important issue of helping veterans deal with workforce challenges. You can follow the conversation on our social media under the hashtag #WorkingNationOverheard.
