Steven Rattner, chairman & CEO of Willett Advisors and MSNBC Morning Joe economic analyst, talks with us about jobs and the “hollowing out of the middle” in the U.S. at Milken Global Conference 2019.

Rattner is a long-time Wall Street financier and led the restructuring of the auto industry in 2009 as counselor to the Treasury secretary under the Obama administration. His book, Overhaul: An Insider’s Account of the Obama Administration’s Emergency Rescue of the Auto Industry, was published in 2010.

Rattner also gives us his lowdown on the state of the economy.

WorkingNation was on the ground at Milken Global Conference 2019 where some of the most powerful people in business, government, healthcare, and entertainment have gathered to discuss and debate how the world is being disrupted by economic and social change and what to do about it. The goal of the talk at the conference is how to drive shared prosperity.

While there, we documented all things future of work on Twitter at #WorkingNationOverheard and in interviews at our pop-up studio (watch our playlist below).
