Before she became a Senior Vice President and head of Global Corporate Citizenship, Dr. Vivian Greentree served as First Data’s Head of Military & Veteran Affairs. Here, she talks about how entrepreneurship takes employment opportunities for veterans to the next level.

Dr. Greentree created First Data Salutes, which connects military communities with career and education resources and business solutions for veteran-owned businesses. She also co-founded Blue Star Families where she created the annual Military Family Lifestyle Survey and created “Making Volunteerism Work For You!” a resume skills translator for military spouses which evolved into the Blue Star Spouse Employment Toolkit, a comprehensive career guide, developed exclusively for military spouses.

Organized by America’s Warrior Partnership, the Warrior Community Integration Symposium is an opportunity to share best practices, find innovative solutions, and form new collaborative partnerships to better help the veterans in their communities address the work challenges they sometimes encounter when making the transition to civilian life.
