Cassidy Leventhal on the ROI of hiring

A new campaign encourages employers to hire those Skilled Through Alternative Routes
-

Tearing the paper ceiling can create workforce opportunity for STARs, people Skilled Through Alternative Routes by eliminating the college degree requirement. A new campaign from Opportunity@Work and the Ad Council encourages companies to make hires from this talent pool.

Cassidy Leventhal, VP with Achieve Partners, says the move to drop the college degree is moving more slowly than it should, but companies who are making that change, can lead the way.

Leventhal says The Paper Ceiling campaign can help employers understand the business case. “We need to be pushing the ROI for the employers. I think that focus on the value, as well as on employers wanting to see diversity in their workforces. They’re wondering if they filter with all of these various criteria, why they don’t have it in their talent pools. Showing them just what they can get, the better talent, the more diverse talent that’s so accessible, I think is the right kind of messaging.”
