Dan Kunze on hiring veterans to fill cybersecurity jobs

Stakeholders share ideas with WorkingNation Overheard at the NASWA Veterans Conference

Veterans are missing out on scores of unfilled jobs in the cybersecurity industry. “We don’t understand how transferable our previous skills were and how quickly we can apply that to cybersecurity,” says Dan Kunze, vice chair of Task Force Movement.

Task Force Movement is a government-business initiative to bring transitioning military members into the trucking and cybersecurity industry.

WorkingNation sat down with Kunze at the NASWA Veterans Conference in Washington, D.C.

Kunze says raising awareness is key. “You don’t have to have a four year degree to become a cybersecurity professional. What you do need is an interest in learning and curiosity.” And Kunze believes veterans are a perfect fit.
