“We can see all jobs getting greener. We can see green skills coming across all jobs, not just the traditionally green jobs, like in solar installation or wind turbine technician, but in what we’ll call greening jobs, jobs like a procurement specialist,” says Efrem Bycer, senior manager, Public Policy & Economic Graph @ LinkedIn.

WorkingNation sat down with Bycer at Presented by JFF Horizons – See Beyond 2022 in New Orleans.

“When we talk about how companies have to green their supply chain to achieve their mission targets, the procurement professionals are the ones on the front lines of that. And we’re seeing green skills become a key part of their skills profile,” he adds.

Bycer says with the growing demand for green skills, it is time for companies to step in and start making certain their employees are ready for the green economy.

“We don’t actually spend as much time investing in upskilling incumbent workers – people already in their jobs who need to do their jobs slightly differently. It behooves companies to invest in the upskilling of their workers.”
