Michelle Gilliard Ph.D. is the director, U.S. Education and Workforce Department at FHI 360. The nonprofit works to “improving the health and well-being of people in the United States and around the world.”

“We partner with governments, the private sector, and civil society to bring about positive social change and to provide lifesaving health care, quality education, and opportunities for meaningful economic participation. We do this by using research and evidence to design and deliver innovative programs that change behaviors, increase access to services, and improve lives.”

Gilliard says a current collaboration with the National Governors Association focuses on states having plans in place to help workers’ preparedness for future work and “continually develop their toolkit of skills and abilities.”

WorkingNation interviewed Gilliard for #WorkingNationOverheard as a media partner with the JFF Horizons 2020 conference. You can watch all the interviews on our YouTube channel.
