The effects of the pandemic have been unprecedented in our lifetimes because of the worldwide impact, according to David Wolpe, Max Webb senior rabbi, Sinai Temple in Los Angeles.

WorkingNation sat down with Wolpe at the Milken Institute Global Conference 2022 in Beverly Hills.

“I’ve heard it compared to when a tsunami hits and then as the tsunami recedes, you see all the damage. I think we’re starting to see, not just the financial and infrastructure, but the emotional damage, the spiritual toll that it has taken on individuals and on society,” says Wolpe.

“This is a particularly poignant and important time to help people refocus themselves and reorient themselves to move forward.”

Wolpe says that catastrophic events lead to reinvention. He notes that people have the opportunity to examine their places and purpose in the workforce.
