Older workers in New Jersey who are looking to make the jump into a new job but are finding difficulties in navigating the job market can get advice and counseling at the New Start Career Network job fair on November 30.

The job fair will be held at the Rutgers University Busch Student Center in Piscataway N.J. on Nov. 30 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free to all NSCN members. Registration for the NSCN and the job fair is free. Head to the NSCN website to sign up.

There will be more than 40 companies on hand at the job fair representing a variety of leading industries in New Jersey. Click here for the list of participating employers.

Back in August, WorkingNation profiled the New Start Career Network and its holistic approach to helping New Jerseyans over the age of 45 find meaningful and sustainable work. Director Maria Heidkamp and her team of counselors work one-on-one with job-seekers to identify their particular skills which make them an invaluable asset to their future employers.

Joe Konopka was one who took advantage of NCSN’s free services after he was laid off from his previous job working in academia. You can watch his story and take a look at how NSCN counselor Mallory Jones assisted Konopka to get him back on his feet and working again.
