“We really have to focus on innovative teaching,” says Sandy Climan, president, Entertainment Media Ventures – which describes itself as consultants across a variety of sectors, including media, marketing, entertainment, and technology.

WorkingNation sat down with Climan at the Milken Institute Global Conference 2022 in Beverly Hills.

“What we learned during COVID was that moving a classroom-based legacy system online did not work the way we had hoped it would or the way that education should bring forward knowledge, engagement, and curiosity,” says Climan.

“I’m a big believer in mentorship, in internship. I’m a big believer that we treat young people as if they are already adults in many, many ways. I take a page out of my friend, Phil Knight’s playbook, which is ‘Get ’em young, get ’em on the playground, look at where they are.’ But not just athletes. Let’s look at young people and give them inspiration and hope and engagement.”
