What is Green Jobs Now?

Green Jobs Now is a content series designed to showcase the jobs potential within the green economy and how it is pivotal to the future of work. The recent Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act is funding new infrastructure with climate resilience in mind—and with that comes the potential for massive job creation.

We’ve partnered Emsi Burning Glass and MISI, two leaders in research and data analysis, to explore green employment within each state via articles, podcasts, and videos that highlight employers who have embraced the green economy as well as the training programs that are preparing jobseekers with the in-demand skills needed to thrive.

According to MISI’s analysis, jobs generated by the green economy are expected to expand to nearly 24 million, comprising 14% of total U.S. jobs, by 2030. So what exactly is the green economy?
The birthplace of our nation faces a political divide between old and new energy sources. However, Pennsylvania has survived similar transitions in the past, with each one benefiting both the workforce and the environment.
